WORSLEY – Pte. FRED WORSLEY, King’s Liverpool Regt., died of wounds received in action in France on August 25th, in his 22nd year, the beloved and only son of Mr and Mrs Worsley.

A good life cut off in the bud of noble manhood. Yes, perfect love could such bitter sorrows bear, the splendid hopes crushed down, the bright dreams ended. Yes, but it is God’s will.

No pen can write, no tongue can tell
Our sad and bitter loss;
But Thou, O Lord, has helped us well
To bear our bitter cross.
